What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Accountant position at Wiss?
Our Outsourced Accounting group is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join the team. This group includes various accounting professionals at all levels, and they are in need of a team member who can support their clients with certain tasks. The group is very team-focused and works together to support one another and the clients. The team members have diverse backgrounds and perspectives which helps create an excellent work environment and learning experience for all. This position will reside out of our Florham Park, NJ office. ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Core Responsibilities:
- Processing transactions such as, but not limited to the following: Vendor bills / Cash disbursements / Customer invoices / Cash receipts /Fixed asset entry / Payroll transactions
- Analyzing and troubleshooting accounting systems to ensure seamless integration and functionality
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate client deliverables
- Assisting on various projects based on client and team needs
- Providing accounts payable support for clients on a firm-wide basis
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business; Accounting degree not required but preferred
- Prior accounting knowledge is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel program
- Experience in QuickBooks Online and Bill is a plus
- Strong computer skills are a requirement
- Tech-savvy with a passion for understanding how systems work and connect
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, with strong problem-solving skills
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate polished communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work
