General Summary Description
The Fleet and Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s telematics systems and rental fleet while providing support in other key logistics areas. This role ensures the efficient management of fleet tracking, rental coordination, and overall logistics operations to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Duties/Responsibilities
Fleet & Telematics Management:
- Manage and maintain telematics systems for company vehicles and equipment.
- Monitor GPS tracking, utilization, and performance data to optimize fleet efficiency.
- Implement policies to improve driver and equipment safety based on telematics insights.
- Ensure compliance with fleet-related regulations, maintenance schedules, and inspections.
Rental Fleet Management:
- Oversee the company’s rental equipment, including procurement, scheduling, and tracking.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure availability and proper use of rentals.
- Track rental costs, contracts, and utilization to maximize cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of rental agreements, invoicing, and return logistics.
Logistics & Operations Support:
- Assist in managing transportation logistics and fleet dispatch as needed.
- Work closely with project managers, field teams, and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
- Analyze data and trends to make recommendations for operational improvements.
- Support budgeting and cost control initiatives related to fleet and logistics.
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements, Abilities and Expectations
- Experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of telematics systems and GPS tracking software.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
