Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager / Onsite Project Manager to lead and oversee building automation projects from initiation to completion. This role involves managing project execution, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality deliverables, and maintaining financial oversight. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, project management, and onsite operations, including commissioning and subcontractor coordination.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from start to finish, including scheduling, financial tracking, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee field operations, ensuring seamless execution and coordination among teams.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring technical proficiency and quality standards.
- Interface with stakeholders, including clients, general contractors, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) trades.
- Assist in project estimating, procurement, change orders, and invoicing.
- Provide onsite troubleshooting, loop checks, and commissioning support.
- Interpret electrical designs and direct onsite electricians for efficient execution.
- Ensure compliance with automation industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications & Key Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in automation and control systems project management.
- Strong technical understanding of automation project workflows and scheduling.
- Experience in financial oversight, including project margin management and forecasting.
- Team leadership experience with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
- Hands-on experience with control systems & software platforms, such as:
- Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, Factory Talk)
- Schneider (Modicon, AVEVA, Citect, PI, Wonderware/Archestra)
- Inductive Automation Ignition
- Distech, Niagara
- Electrical low-voltage installation and subcontractor management experience.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, instrumentation, control valves, P&IDs, and plant utility systems.
- Onsite commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
- Understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP) is a plus.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
