Job Summary - Seasonal Position - Summer
The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of a fleet of vehicles and industrial equipment. This role involves ensuring that all vehicles, including tractor-trailers, are in optimal working condition, adhering to safety standards.. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in automotive diagnostics, air brake systems, hydraulics, and the ability to transmit and suspend operations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure timely and efficient repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Oversee the diagnosis and repair of mechanical issues, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Maintain/audit accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed and parts used.
- Auditing Fuel Records
- Scheduling road side assistance
- Collaborate with other departments to schedule vehicle maintenance without disrupting operations.
- Ensuring that drivers are performing Pre-Trip inspections
- Train and mentor service technicians on best practices for vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to fleet operations.
- Daily maintenance checks at trailer yard on trucks/trailers
- Transporatation of drivers to vehicles as needed
- Communcation with Maintenance shop/drivers day to day
- Monitoring ELD's and asset management.
- Assist with onboarding New Drivers class CDL drivers
Experience
- Proven experience in fleet maintenance or a similar role, with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics.
- Familiarity with air brake systems, hydraulics, and industrial equipment maintenance.
- knowledge of spreadsheets and keeping accurate information up to date
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with other departments.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
