Night Auditor

As a Night Auditor, you’ll take on a variety of responsibilities, from reconciling the day’s financial transactions to addressing late-night guest inquiries. Guided by the General Manager, you’ll ensure our guests feel welcome and supported even during the overnight hours.

You’re not just balancing the books; you’re creating peace of mind. Your role is vital in ensuring accurate records and a seamless transition for the morning staff.

You’ll be working your magic on a seasonal basis at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel in Bar Harbor, Maine. This position is 32 hours per week with shifts primarily from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays and weekends. The starting wage is $20 per hour.

Here are some more details:

Essential Duties

• Reconcile daily financial transactions and prepare reports.
• Welcome and assist late-night guests with check-ins, check-outs, and inquiries.
• Monitor and respond to phone calls and emails.
• Perform light cleaning duties and ensure the lobby and other common areas are tidy.
• Conduct security checks to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
• Prepare and set up breakfast service for early risers.
• Collaborate with the Front Office and other departments as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills Required

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable with basic accounting tasks and using hotel management software (training provided).
• Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks and schedules.

Education and Experience

• Previous experience in hospitality, accounting, or night audit roles is a plus, but not required. We will train the right candidate.

Performance Measurement

• 90-day performance review, guest feedback, and collaboration with the team.
