Job Summary:
The Floor Technician is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of hospital flooring, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves using specialized equipment and techniques to clean, polish, and maintain various types of flooring, including tile, carpet, and vinyl. In emergent situations Floor Technician could be moved to an Environmental Service Aide position until needs are satisfied.
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in floor care, preferably in a healthcare or commercial setting.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques, equipment, and cleaning solutions.
• Ability to operate and maintain floor care equipment safely and efficiently.
• Understanding of hospital infection control and sanitation standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Basic understanding of electronic use such as iPad, computers, and/or robots.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be self-motivated and take initiative.
