The Hospital Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing professional nursing care for assigned patients by the use and implementation of the nursing process of assessment, derivation of the nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation by using a holistic approach. The Shift Supervisor acts as a resource to all departments and serves as a liaison between clinical managers and staff. The Shift Supervisor is a contributing member to the multi-disciplinary Health Care Team and must be able to communicate the needs of the patient/significant others to all disciplines involved in the patient’s hospitalization. This person must support the vision and values of Witham Health Services as well as the overall goals of the organization and departments. This position coordinates and organizes personnel and other resources to meet the patient care functions in a cost-effective manner. This role is one that requires eliciting and considering information at the staff level in making timely decisions or judgment calls.
Job Summary
The Hospital Shift Supervisor coordinates and organizes personnel and other resources to meet the patient care functions of the organization in a cost-effective manner. Collaborates to provide crisis management, interpret policy and procedure, and assure timely and effective communication and collaboration between individuals and departments. The Hospital Shift Supervisor represents the organizational leadership across all venues on a 24-hour basis and collaborates to make decisions and act on behalf of the leadership team.The Hospital Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing professional nursing care for assigned patients by the use and implementation of the nursing process of assessment, derivation of the nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation by using a holistic approach. Minimum Education/License/Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) Preferred.
- CPR, ACLS, CPI required.
- PALS or NRP Preferred.
- 3 year’s experience.
- Current professional nursing license in Indiana.
- Must maintain BLS and ACLS certification.
