Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Examining physical evidence such as skid marks, debris fields, and impact points to determine what happened in an accident

Search for accident videos and coordinate with Crash Production to obtain Scene Photos, Drive-Throughs of Area, Traffic Light Sequences, P.D Photos, Injury Photos.

Interviewing witnesses to an accident to gather information about how it occurred, what happened immediately before it occurred, and other details

Determining whether any laws or regulations were violated during the course of an accident investigation, and recommending appropriate action be taken against the violators

Reviewing records such as medical reports, autopsy reports, genetic test results, insurance claims, and vehicle registration documents to determine liability in a personal injury claim

Interviewing victims of accidents to obtain information about their injuries and the impact the injuries have on their lives

Conducting research on accident causes and prevention methods, including studying engineering and design flaws in vehicles or roadways

Preparing detailed reports that include information about the accident circumstances, findings of fact, conclusions, and recommendations for preventing future similar accidents

Investigate traffic accidents; initiate proper assistance, including wreckers, ambulances, fire department personnel, and law enforcement.

Assist disabled motorists and aid in the removal of abandoned vehicles that obstruct roadways.

Respond to dispatched assignments.

Maintain assigned vehicles, equipment, and supplies, ensuring availability and proper working order.

May testify as a witness in court.

Perform various administrative support duties.
Work Experience Requirements:
-
Two years' experience requiring recordkeeping, public contact, interpretation of rules, regulations, and investigation.

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills required.

Detail-oriented strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving capabilities.

Abilities to use software, technology, and other tools to complete tasks.
Education Requirements:

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED or higher

Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurability.
Physical Requirements:
-
Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.

May be required to work overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve work outside during harsh weather conditions, high levels of public contact, and hazards associated with working near and in traffic

Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: standing or sitting for extended periods of time, kneeling, squatting and/or stooping, operating assigned equipment.
