Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Leads and directs a team of Medical Records Specialists including front line managers, focused on ordering medical records, billing records, radiology imaging, with/without affidavit or by subpoena from providers in multiple city/state locations across US.

Oversees the management of the legal medical records processes to include initial records requests, weekly follow ups, paying invoices, scheduling couriers, and reconciling monthly reports

Oversees and directs the processes of receiving, uploading, and saving medical records within multiple case management and records systems

Ensure all internal medical records and bills are properly OCR and clients records are redacted (where appropriate) for Case Manager and Paralegal use

Responsible for subrogation liens (hospital, Medicaid/care, child support, etc.) and understanding state variability in liens

Verify balances for all medical providers for demands or mediation

Responsible for overseeing Medical Records process (ordering, procuring, and transferring) for contracted external firms.

Effectively manage the medical records team to meet regular and time sensitive deadlines and guide and directly daily, weekly and monthly productivity goals.
Work Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience

Recent director or management experience with medium to large team size

Relevant medical records experience, preferably from legal
-
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person and email

Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and critical thinking abilities

Managerial and leadership experience in medical records or similar field medical office/practice

Experience with Case Management/Records Software

Understanding of personal Injury law involving motor vehicle accidents preferred

Excellent organizational skills with outstanding attention to details

Professional appearance and behavior

Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information

Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
-
Proficient in Medical/Records Case Management software
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems and performance reviews
Physical Requirements:

Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions. Some overtime may be required to timely accomplish work demands
