Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Consultant to head up our in-house trial
strategy program. The ideal candidate will have extensive real-world litigation experience and a
proven track record of trial success. This role involves organizing and managing in-house focus groups,
assisting with voir dire preparation, and providing support during jury selection as well as trial
monitoring. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for training our attorneys on various
aspects of focus group preparation, voir dire, and jury selection.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Focus Group Management:
- Organizes and conducts in-house focus groups, with a focus on neutral narrative focus groups, demonstrative vetting, and issue gauging.
- Manages the scheduling and execution of focus groups, with an anticipated rate of 10-15 focus groups per month.
- Analyze focus group feedback and provide actionable insights to the legal team
Voir Dire Preparation: - Assists in preparing voir dire strategies and drafting supplemental juror questionnaires.
- Develops and refines questions designed to elicit critical information from potential jurors.
Jury Selection Assistance: - Attends jury selection processes and provides real-time analysis of juror questionnaire information.
- Supports attorneys during voir dire to ensure optimal jury selection.
Trial Monitoring:
- Monitors trials and provides feedback to the trial team throughout trial.
- Analyzes trial proceedings and affords strategic advice based on focus group insights and juror behavior.
Training and Development:
- Trains attorneys on the preparation and execution of focus groups.
- Educates the legal team on effective voir dire techniques and jury selection strategies.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Significant real-world litigation experience; a proven track record of trial success.
- Prior experience organizing and managing focus groups.
- Experience in the trucking industry a considerable plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
Education Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admittance to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria, and parking area.
- Carry Weight/Lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs. · Occasional travel may be required.
