Join our team as a Director of Utilities (Water/Wastewater) within our Utilities practice area. This is a hybrid role based out of our Charlotte, North Carolina office.
WithersRavenel has an exciting opening for a Director of Utilities to lead water and wastewater projects in Charlotte and Western North Carolina. This leadership role is responsible for the strategic growth, operations, and financial performance of the sector, ensuring the successful execution of projects while fostering client relationships and business development.
Key responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, team leadership, quality management, and innovation in utility design and construction. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for mentoring teams, optimizing project delivery, and advancing industry technologies.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent degree and/or experience
- 12 years of engineering or related experience; 7 years of project management; 3 years of managing teams
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Self-motivated, engaged, team-oriented, communicative, and strategic thinker with strong leadership and management skills
- People skills, leadership, mentorship, soft skills, multi-tasking, financial acumen are all very important to this position
- Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking
- Proven track record of developing existing and new client relationships
- Thought leader in the water/wastewater industry/sector
- Thought leader in building teams and collaboration
