WithersRavenel is recruiting a Project Manager to join our creative and growing Stormwater Practice Area!
Our Stormwater team believes in rather than attempting to minimize and hide stormwater management, looking for ways it can become a focal point within a larger design. The specific group you would be joining will either specialize within public sector projects (which includes master planning projects) or a group that is more dedicated to residential projects.
This role would be a great opportunity for someone who is technically skilled, interested in client management and enjoys the mentorship of other around them.
This is a hybrid role working out of our Cary/Raleigh, NC office where employees and supervisors collaborate to establish an in- and out-of-office schedule that “works” for all involved.
Responsibilities
- Direct projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, resource and staffing needs while collaborating with clients and teammates throughout the organization.
- Oversee and participate in the cultivation of existing client relationships including periodic client meetings, proposal and budget development, and obtaining feedback in conjunction with Marketing and Practice Area teammates.
- Prepare agreements and oversee the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications and construction cost estimates.
- Analyze complex technical opportunities and devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Team Members to achieve the goals and strategies for the Practice Area. Actively encourage career development, training and career path planning for all of your direct teammates.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 7 years of Stormwater engineering/industry experience with demonstrated team management experience
- Professional Engineer License
- Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Strong leadership and project management skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of contracts, accounting principles, including budgeting and forecasting
- Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven track record of fostering existing client relationships
- Demonstrate personal investment in your career
- Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking
Working Conditions
The assignment may require infrequent evening/weekend work and job site visits outdoors. Candidates should enjoy working in collaborative, fast-paced, and client-driven environment.
Physical Requirements
The assignment may occasionally require repetitive physical tasks (such as operating a computer), standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, extended time travelling in a vehicle, and carrying equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.
