The Facilities Technician is a versatile role within the Operations and Facilities Departments, responsible for the maintenance and repair of campus buildings, vehicles, and other company assets. This position also provides support for various Operations tasks as needed, ensuring the smooth functioning of daily activities. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, hands-on, and proactive in addressing maintenance and operational needs across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs as needed, coordinating with vendors when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date records on contracts, warranties, and systems to ensure timely renewal, replacement, and servicing.
- Oversee building and site security, including key management and access control.
- Respond to emergencies as needed, maintaining availability for urgent issues both day and night.
- Build strong relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring work quality and follow-through.
- Maintain inventory of janitorial and maintenance supplies.
- Assist with janitorial tasks as needed, such as emptying trash bins between cleaning service visits and addressing restroom issues to ensure functionality.
- Oversee the maintenance, inspections, registration, and custom lettering of all company vehicles.
- Assist with assembling product displays, fixtures, banners, product repairs, and seasonal decorations.
- Manage and maintain company vending machines.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
- Provide facility security oversight, including evening lock-up procedures.
- Serve as the primary responder to facility alarm activations during off-hours.
- Perform snow removal and salting of walkways and coordinate snow plowing services for the parking lot.
- Deliver orders to customers as needed, operating a large box truck.
- Drive the employee shuttle on a daily basis.
This is a full-time position. Hours/Days of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Extended hours, including Saturdays may be required based upon the needs of the business. Location is Witmer Public Safety Group Headquarters in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, on Lincoln Highway across from the Chester County Airport.
