General Summary:
WITRON is seeking a highly motivated National Health & Safety General Manager to oversee and manage safety programs across all automated warehouse sites in the U.S. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, as well as other state, local, and industry-specific standards. The position is responsible for creating and implementing safety training, skill development, and emergency preparedness programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of OSHA, ASME, ANSI, and ISO regulations, as well as the ability to implement measures that reduce workplace accidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development & Implementation:
- Develop, execute, and monitor safety policies, risk assessments, procedures, and programs to prevent accidents and injuries across all warehouse sites, including managing safety for employees working at heights.
- Safety Training & Emergency Preparedness:
- Conduct safety training sessions and ensure that all employees are properly educated on safety measures and protocols.
- Incident Management & Investigation:
- Investigate workplace incidents to identify root causes and implement preventive measures. Ensure that all accidents are processed, documented, and reported as required by law.
- Safety Inspections & Audits:
- Perform regular safety inspections of warehouse sites and serve as the primary liaison for regulatory audits and inspections by OSHA, ASME, ANSI, and other relevant bodies.
- Construction & Project Safety:
- Collaborate with the construction management team to design and implement safety policies, programs, and procedures related to construction safety and projects.
- Critical Incident Management:
- Lead critical incident management, ensuring proper actions are taken in compliance with legal and safety standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for managing incidents and regulatory inquiries.
- MHE Training & Oversight:
- Oversee the training, inspection, and safe operation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) across all sites.
- Workers Compensation & Loss Control:
- Manage loss control reviews, workers' compensation claims, and ensure timely reporting and documentation of safety-related incidents.
- Safety Integration Across Sites:
- Work closely with all warehouse sites to ensure that safety policies are fully integrated into daily operations and business processes.
Requirements:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing safety in operational or functional roles, preferably in warehouse, distribution, logistics, industrial construction, or related environments.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety or a related field, or equivalent experience in industrial, construction, or automated warehouse safety.
- Certifications:
- Heights Rescue Certification is preferred
- OSHA 30 preferred
- COSS/COSM Certification preferred
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of OSHA, ASME, ANSI, and ISO regulations, along with manufacturing and construction safety standards.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of safety principles, accident prevention, and safety equipment.
- Experience with MHE operations, training, and inspections.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with management, legal teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Travel:
- Approximately 50% of travel is required to support safety programs and compliance at different warehouse locations.
