We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team and help manage the clinic’s billing operations with efficiency and accuracy.

The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing patient billing processes, ensuring that insurance claims are submitted and processed promptly, and resolving any issues related to claims or patient billing. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, particularly within a physical therapy or rehabilitation setting, and be knowledgeable about the nuances of insurance policies, coding, and patient billing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and submit insurance claims in a timely manner, ensuring accurate coding and patient information

- Review and verify patient information, diagnosis codes (ICD-10), and procedure codes (CPT) for claims submission

- Monitor claims and follow up on unpaid or rejected claims to ensure proper payment

- Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing issues and discrepancies

- Post payments, adjustments, and manage accounts receivable

- Work with the clinic's electronic health records (EHR) and billing software to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial records

- Provide excellent customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans

- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality requirements (HIPAA)

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist, preferably in a physical therapy or healthcare environment, however we are willing to train the right candidate

- Strong understanding of medical billing and coding, including ICD-10, CPT codes, and modifiers

- Proficiency with billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Familiarity with insurance policies, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers

- Certification in Medical Billing or Coding is a plus but not required
