Job Summary :

This role is vital to ensuring that Wittenbach obtains essential goods and services at optimal prices, quality, and delivery times. The Procurement Associate will analyze historical data and forecast future needs to maintain appropriate inventory levels at all Wittenbach locations. The incumbent in this role will also process expedited orders, such as next-day air or out-of-stock items, to meet immediate customer requirements. They will address technician inquiries and offer exceptional customer service along with overall improving procurement processes to ensure timely delivery and minimize disruptions.

Responsibilities :

  • Purchase Order & Item Card Creation : Prepare and process purchase orders for goods and services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This position will also create item cards within the company software systems.
  • Order Tracking : Monitor order status, follow up with suppliers, and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
  • Inventory Monitoring & Maintenance : Track inventory levels in company software to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or excess stock. Along with determining reorder points based on demand forecasts and lead times to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Vendor & Employee Relationship Management : Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers and employees to ensure timely delivery, resolve issues, and foster positive relationships
  • Requirements

    Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree : An associates or bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, economics, or a related field is typically preferred but not required.
  • Specialized Certifications : Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are not required but are a plus.
  • Experience :

  • Relevant Experience : Some experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field is often beneficial, although entry-level positions may be available for candidates with a strong academic background.
  • Functional / Technical Skills :

  • Strong Communication Skills : Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers.
  • Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to identify and resolve issues related to procurement processes, supplier performance, or inventory management.
  • Organizational Skills : Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders, invoices, and other documentation.
  • Computer Software Proficiency : Familiarity with procurement software systems (e.g., NAV) to streamline processes and manage data. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
  • Database Management : Understanding of database management concepts to manage supplier information, purchase orders, and inventory data.
  • Supply Chain Management Knowledge : Basic understanding of supply chain principles and concepts to optimize procurement processes.
  • Data Analysis Tools : Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) to extract insights from procurement data.
  • Environmental / Physical Demands :

  • Lifting : Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; frequently lift up to 5 pounds.
