CHIEF OBJECTIVES OF THIS POSITION:
Our Scenic Fabricator will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the Company and a favorable image of the Company. They will be skilled in their craft, disciplined, possess a high personal drive, and remain conscientious with details and accuracy for the installation of sets, activations, vignettes, props, objects of art, and environments that enhance the quality of work for which we are known. While the pace of the work is faster than average, our quality is never compromised. This candidate will manage their specialized work efficiently, with confidence, and with competence. The position requires above-average attention to detail, concern for high quality of work, and a strong commitment to tasks completed on time.
REPORTING:
Direct Report to: Director of Production - Creative Services
General Reporting: Build Leads, Scenic Shop Manager, and Director of Production - Creative Services
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Work in a fast-paced environment while managing specialized work efficiently, confidently, and competently.
● Maintain high standards for high-quality work.
● Complete work outlined in created Production Schedules and Fabrication Decks tailored to each unique project.
● Work under the supervision of Build Leads to ensure all builds are true to the design, installed efficiently, and meet safety requirements.
Other Duties:
In-shop and on-site fabrication, installation, or breakdown work required.
Specialized skills may include, but are not limited to, carpentry, scenic or mural painting, finishing work, etc.
Ability to create and contribute to a structured, organized, and efficient workplace environment.
Accountability for great results in high-pressure situations
Ability to focus on the big picture and quickly make decisions that are well thought out and analyzed.
Multi-task and remain focused on critical objectives.
Read and follow directions, blueprints/schematics, and renderings or sketches.
Candidates must be comfortable working within a collaborative, optimistic, and imaginative team.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required 2 years experience in scenic, carpentry, electronic assembly, CNC operation, floral design, costume sewing, upholstery, sculpting, or other related field.
- Proficiency with the use of shop equipment and tools
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent listener and communicator (verbal and written)
- Ability to prevent and/or minimize material waste.
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- A strong desire to learn and grow with the company.
- Working knowledge of Google Office Suite
