Responsibilities
- Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
- Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
- Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
- Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
- Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
- Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
- Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and live within our coverage area of Cook, DuPage, Kane, and Will Counties.
- Must have no less than three (3) years of experience practicing family law.
- Must have strong working knowledge of relevant software applications, including Google Suite, Family Law Software, Microsoft Office, MyCase, and Zoom.
