What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN position at WJM Professional Services LLC?
Under the supervision of the nurse manager, the LPN works closely with others as needed in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas and Primary Care setting throughout the Charleston VA and surrounding Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. The LPN functions both dependently and independently with guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager/designee. An LPN must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
May be utilized as needed in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas, in ambulatory/outpatient care clinics, and outpatient lab.
Knowledge and skill sufficient to prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous medications as permitted by approved local facility policies and procedures. Observation and documentation will include the patient's response to the medication administered and the reporting of any noted change in the patient's condition to the RN or MD/DO.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact [in an appropriate manner] with patients, family members, professional and [other] supportive personnel [involved in the delivery of] patient care, incorporating acceptable, established customer service standards into practice.
