The Logistics Team Leader, which is a working Team Leader position, will have primary day-to-day responsibilities of executing Warehouse, Overhaul and Shipping functions. This includes ensuring all assigned tasks are completed by performing and/or assigning work to the Team of associates. Tasks include, but not limited to, Receiving, Picking, Order Processing, Shipping, Overhaul, and associated software systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Safety First – Maintain a safe environment for associates and visitors; communicate and enforce safety and environmental policies; serve as a role model in safety and 5S compliance. Manage safety issues to ensure adherence to established processes, conduct root cause and preventative actions, and to report all incidents to management in a timely manner.

· Lead by example.

· Quality – Support the use, update, and/or creation of standard operating procedures and/or work instructions regarding customer profiles.

· Follow established processes to achieve Safety, Quality, and Performance.

· Communicate relevant Department and Company information in a timely and accurate manner to ensure staff is adequately informed and trained. Encourage feedback/suggestions from the Team.

· Demonstrate a cooperative, courteous, and respectful manner towards all internal and external customers.

· Fosters positive associate relations, while ensuring Company vision, mission and core values are met.

· Establish sound priorities and set goals in order to achieve desired results within appropriate timeframes. Recommend improvements to systems and procedures to enhance efficiency of workflow and quality of output.

· Process shipments to ensure all are shipped to meet customers’ requirements while aligning with departmental policies and process requirements.

· Use professional development tools (self-study, etc.) to enhance management, technical and supervisory skills. Encourage/allow staff to develop and grow within the scope of their responsibilities and personal/professional goals.

· Recommend and assist in training of assigned associates to achieve job performance goals (i.e. key performance indicators and metrics).

· Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion by following 5S procedures.

· Help monitor shift associates to ensure they are being safe, punctual, executing their assigned job role(s), and are leaving at the conclusion of their assigned shifts.

· Help conduct corrective action training to overcome known errors.

· Participate in the annual review process of assigned staff.

· Enforce company policies and initiate disciplinary actions as needed.

· Perform any other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

· Computer ability in a Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) environment is required. Knowledge of enterprise resource planning software SAP is required.

· Must be able to perform work of a technical and involved nature requiring the use of judgment and independent critical thinking.

· Excellent team building, operational, problem-solving, organizational and planning skills are required, including the ability to conduct formal presentations, prepare written documentation, etc.

· Great technical and people skills of a diverse workforce is required.

Education:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience and/or Training:

· 4 years of experience in a warehouse manager position.

Professional Skills:

· Market knowledge, process and structural knowledge, knowledge of business administration, and knowledge of policies, directives, guidelines, and standards.

· Knowledge of SAP Applications, MS Office Suite.

ENVIRONMENT:

· Generally good working conditions in a manufacturing plant. Moderate physical effort including frequent standing/walking and occasional exposure to high noise levels may be required. During the summer months exposure to heat and humidity may occur. Lifting/carrying objects up to a maximum of 50 pounds is necessary. The ability to twist, bend, stoop and climb is also required. Noise levels in work areas may fluctuate from 82 to 110 decibels.

· Equipment usage includes telephone, PC, various measuring devices, hand and power tools as well as other tools/machinery used in the work unit.

· Ability to read and understand both spoken and written instructions and good vision is required.

· Personal protective equipment includes protective toed, oil/chip safety shoes; safety glasses with side shields; work gloves when appropriate.

· Appropriate OSHA safety training required.

· Maintain a safe working environment.

· Comply with all safety and environmental policies/procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
