Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist – Government Invoicing Focus

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team. This role will focus on managing and optimizing our accounts receivable processes, with a particular emphasis on government invoicing systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in finance or accounting, excellent organizational skills, and hands-on experience with billing government agencies or working within government contract frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, submit, and track invoices to government agencies and other clients in compliance with contract terms and regulations.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing and collections.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in line with audit and compliance requirements.
- Support month-end closing processes related to accounts receivable.
- Recommend and implement improvements to billing processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related finance role.
- Prior experience with government invoicing systems (e.g., IPP, WAWF, SAM, or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of billing compliance and reporting requirements for government contracts.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [insert specific tools, e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.] a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Familiarity with federal, state, or municipal procurement and payment systems.
- Knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles.
