The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing manufacturing instructions or procedures for completeness, correctness, and comprehension by production/assembly workers. They will also audit processes performed by workers relative to methods, tools, and ability to follow manufacturing instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage a U.S. PPAP process/package for anodized, stretch bent, polished, assembled, and painted components from beginning to end
- Develop and implement quality control plans/systems from scratch
- Responsible for inspections according to the quality management system/control plans/agreements with customers
- Take corrective action if the customer's agreed quality aims cannot be met
- Responsible for the execution of product audits, short audits, and process audits
- Execution of process and system audits
- Responsible for decisions regarding inspection status according to the quality management system
- Responsible for data administration and archiving of quality documents, samples, and measurement instruments
- Determination of preventive measurements to assure quality with production, management, and project teams
- Responsible for IATF certification and process
- Responsible for tasks in connection with environmental management according to DIN ISO 14001 (EHS Manager's responsibility)
- Work on cross-functional teams through PFMEA reviews and create/finalize PFMEA
- Perform/initiate capability studies and be able to interpret results
- Able to fill out PSW/AAR forms
- Interface with CMM operators on how to measure components and assemblies and fill out proper dimensional PPAP forms
- Understand customer requirements for testing and be able to interpret and fill out proper PPAP forms
- Initiate GR&R/MSA studies and be able to interpret results
- Understand plastic processes and be able to create work instructions and possibly process flow diagrams
- Able to interface with customers' Quality Engineers with questions/issues and get resolution
- Able to read customer drawings and interpret them
- Understand GD&T and be able to interpret CMM reports
- Understand part functions and be able to create GD&T schemes based on those understandings and interface those ideas with the customer
- Understanding of gages and use created GD&T schemes to build them
- Interface with customer to get gage concepts and designs approved
- Interface with gage builders to create gages and follow up on them through build and completion
- Able to review parts and make determinations if they are acceptable by meeting quality standards created
- Visit customers for color and harmony meetings
- Able to read colorimeter results
- Analyzing quality control to detect production problems
- Maintain current knowledge of quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies
