Location: Luzianne Tea Manufacturing Plant at 5601 Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA 70126
1st Shift Hours: Monday-Thursday 4:30am-3:00pm
Job Summary: Our Production Line Operators are responsible for safely operating production equipment within the manufacturing facility and ensuring that quality products are produced timely and efficiently.
- Operates production equipment efficiently according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and food/employee safety requirements and guidelines to meet daily labor and waste goals as planned and driven by management
- Utilizes Digital Production System (Redzone) to track downtime, perform quality compliance documents and communicate with support functions
- Completes change overs for their assigned equipment and/or production line
- Learns and maintains customer standards for product specifications and acceptable quality
- Reads and follows instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications
- Accurately completes all quality, traceability, and production paperwork
- Reports any product deficiencies, food or safety concerns to supervisor
- Performs minor equipment adjustments to ensure equipment is operating optimally
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation, assists with product change overs and ensures all tools are accounted for
- Ensures the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of machine operating/production experience preferred
- Technical skills include the ability to start and stop equipment, complete a changeover, and operate one piece of equipment
- Interpersonal skills include good verbal and written communication, good time management skills and the ability to follow rules and directions
- Leadership skills include a positive attitude, being a team player and self-leadership
