WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The Workers’ Compensation Coordinator will support the timely processing, monitoring and handling of workers’ compensation claims to move towards closure. Will provide guidance and support to injured employees while working as a liaison between the injured employee, business partners, medical professionals and adjusters.
JOB DUTIES:
- Report to TPA all newly filed claims
- Review accident report for completion and forward to the claims adjuster, reviewing all claim details for accuracy and address/investigate any discrepancies
- Follow-up with reporting manager to confirm details of accident or injury and identify any potential red flags
- Assist the claims adjuster with obtaining additional information for managing and or investigating each claim fairly and promptly
- Remain in contact with the injured employee and follow-up after every medical appointment to obtain work status
- Manage the Company’s modified duty program, assigning employees to mod-duty work when necessary and track assignment caps
- Communicate with business partners when changes occur to an employee’s status due to restrictions or removal of restrictions
- Promptly respond to requests for information or documents from claims adjusters
- Provide good customer service to injured employees to maintain good rapport and help reduce litigation
- Aid in the achievement of department goals
- Provide support to the team as needed
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years in Workers Comp, Insurance, Safety and/or HR related role
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and have effective team, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Punctual and dependable
- Ability to initiate and take action before being required to do so, and use time efficiently
- Responsive to inquiries and follow up to ensure the situation is taken care of promptly and correctly
- Ability to reflect a positive Company image and set an example for others
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time, and maintain interpersonal relations with management, vendors and regulatory agency representatives
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
- Willingness and ability to follow company and department policies and rules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Bilingual English and Spanish
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Environmental exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions
- Ability to lift and/ and or move up to 25lbs.
