WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
JOB DESCRIPTION : This job contributes to Evolution Fresh success by supervising day-to-day manufacturing operations to support defined people, quality, cost, and service objectives within a Evolution Fresh roasting plant. Models and acts in accordance with Evolution Fresh guiding principles
JOB DUTIES :
Complies with standards and processes such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product qualityCreates and sustains a cohesive, positive, and clean work environment, supports, train and participates in 5S program.Ensures effective and timely communication of company, plant and department information to managers, peers, and own work team, including supervisors, leads and associate / ssProvides associate / s with timely performance feedbackServes as a technical expert and coach for team membersSupports associate / s in presenting ideas for improving the efficiency and productivity of operationsMonitors production throughput, volume fluctuations and labor utilization to ensure smooth manufacturing operationsEnsures that associate / s work in accordance with the production schedule to provide product reliabilityEnsures appropriate staffing to meet new business requirements and volume fluctuationsMinimizes scrap to control costsOperates within established budgets, forecasts, cost objectives and service levels to control expenses. Supports implementation of cost, quality, and service improvement initiativesSupports all established plant and manufacturing goals and objectivesApprises manager of team progress and any obstaclesSupport and responsible for the food safety, legality, and quality programsLeadership, leading by example and fostering creative thinking and growth for all associate / s.Work with all departments to find solutions and support each other’s challenges.Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together.Participate and sponsor A3 cost saving ideas.Work with CI and support Kaizen events.SAFETY :
Demonstrates and understands safety as our core value and follows the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; coaches others to do the same.Understand and follows established safety guidelines, consistently complying with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out, Good Housekeeping, etc.).Reinforces safe practices to other associate / s and provides coaching when witness to unsafe practices.PLANNING AND EXECUTION :
Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results :Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.Monitoring daily and weekly schedule. Make changes-based availability and coordinating with Scheduling / Planning team to balance the week and meet demand.Each Shift Production Supervisor will review and make the necessary changes to Schedule or Sequence by line based on Down Time, Staffing, Product availability or Product issues.ASSOCIATE / S DEVELOPMENT AND TEAM BUILDING :
Direct reports will be Leads & Hourly Associate / s, all direct reports will be provided with coaching, feedback, developmental opportunities and building effective teams :Communicate expectations to team / associate / s and provide direction for improvements.Challenges and inspires associate / s to achieve business results.Supports team members' suggestions to improve costs, quality, efficiency and service.Oversees training and development of associate / s. Creating a cross-functional teams.Directly and indirectly makes effective staffing decisions.Evaluate training status to keep teams on task and complete assignments as required.Following through with recommendations, concerns or issues brought up an associate.QUALITY :
Maintains product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, HACCP and food safety procedures, product specifications and quality procedures.Completes tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.Work within Food Safety procedures to mitigate Re-work. Evaluate and develop options to improve first time processing.Minimum Qualifications :
Supervisor experience 3-5 yearsManufacturing or Production setting 3-5 yearsAdditional Required Qualifications :
Team-building skillsAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingAbility to provide technical leadershipProblem-solving skillsAbility to understand and follow established safety proceduresStrong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.Familiarity with Brand Reputation Compliance (BRC), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standardsFamiliarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (21 CFR 117) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with BRC or SQF certification schemesPOSITION EXPECTATIONS :
Works Monday - Friday, with an expectation of working up to a minimum of 60 hours per week.Working weekends based on business needs.
Answer and respond to all emails requiring directions from you or your shift.Answer emails & phone call after hours (Except on Vacation Days or Personal Days Off)
Provide 4 days advanced notice for Time Off Requests.Work another shift as needed.Work with and support other departments as needed (QA, EHS, Maintenance, Automations, Sanitation, HR, Shipping, Customer Service). Working together as one team.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
5S / Kaisen training / background.Cost saving mentality, looking for any opportunity to save on Waste, Labor, Yield loss, time and motion reduction, improving production performance.Conflict resolution experience & Team development.Physical Demands :
