- Develop and execute a strategic vision for the external reporting function, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall financial and corporate strategy.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team responsible for financial reporting, fostering professional development and a culture of excellence.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of accurate and timely SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and other required disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and other applicable standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to address complex accounting issues and ensure transparency in reporting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement policies and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance standards.
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors, providing support for audits and reviews of financial statements.
- Partner with key stakeholders, including finance, legal, investor relations, and executive leadership, to ensure consistent messaging and compliance in financial disclosures.
- Support corporate initiatives such as M&A activities, strategic investments, and other transactions requiring technical accounting expertise.
- Identify and implement best practices to streamline financial reporting processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Leverage technology and tools to improve the accuracy and timeliness of reporting activities.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with financial reporting and compliance.
- Ensure the company’s reporting framework meets the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- 12 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, public accounting, or related roles, with significant exposure to SEC reporting.
- Proven leadership experience in a complex, publicly traded company, preferably within a Fortune 500 environment.
- Expertise in US GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across functions and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience with M&A transactions and technical accounting research.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
- Track record of driving innovation and process improvement in financial reporting functions.
