- ** Hours are Monday-Friday 5AM-3PM**
- **Hourly pay starting at $22.00/hr**
The Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within their assigned department, ensuring productivity, safety, and compliance with company policies. This role includes supervising employees, monitoring workflow, and implementing process improvements to optimize efficiency. The Department Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive work environment and driving operational excellence.
Essential Job Functions/Duties
- Conduct daily tailgate meetings to review safety regulations and department goals.
- Ensure employees wear the required PPE and follow all safety regulations and company policies.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, product issues, or material concerns to management promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace within the department.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
- Oversee Machine Operators to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Monitor employee attendance and report absences, tardiness, or extended break periods to upper management (Assistant Production Manager, Production Manager, HR).
- Immediately report any workplace accidents, incidents, or injuries to upper management (Assistant Production Manager, Production Manager, HR).
- Allocate work efficiently to minimize overtime and manage labor costs effectively.
- Implement and oversee workflow improvements to enhance production and efficiency.
- Foster teamwork and organization within the department, encouraging collaboration and accountability.
- Prepare department for inclement weather conditions and provide support to other departments as needed.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing concerns and facilitating clear communication.
- Provide coaching and support for all employees to ensure continuous skill development and performance improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Compliance with safety regulations and adherence to company policies.
- Efficiency and productivity of department operations.
- Employee attendance, engagement, and performance.
- Timely identification and resolution of equipment or workflow issues.
- Effectiveness in reducing labor costs while maintaining efficiency.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or lead experience (preferred).
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. with minimal effort.
- Experience in a physical, labor-intensive environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Bilingual (preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Primarily manufacturing/warehouse-based environment with exposure to machinery and varying temperatures.
- May involve work on uneven surfaces, ramps, and stairs.
- Physically demanding role requiring manual labor and standing for extended periods.
