RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Proactively maintains quality measurement systems in production environment ensuring customer/product specifications and key material attributes are accurately quantified.
- Responsible to take care of test stations and testing equipment.
- Participate in plant quality audits, detailed reporting, tracking and aiding in corrective actions.
- Responsible for audit product quality
- Conduct internal audits and perform lab testing
- Identifying possible areas for improvement and quality control
- Assist with Production Operator training to improve production quality and ensure quality processes are being followed. Seize opportunities to minimize mistakes and improve overall quality.
- Identify and can rectify potential issues, report findings and corrective action solutions to Manager.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop strategies, tasks for continuous improvement.
- Provide needed Quality technical reports to Manager to drive continuous improvement, or report on trends for analysis and corrective action.
- Interface with Process Technicians and Supervisors as needed driving quality improvement processes
- Must follow business practices and adhere to all Safety policies and practice.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
This position requires an individual with good people and communication skills for strong working relationship with inspection team. Work with all levels within organization such as but not limited to, Quality and Manufacturing Engineers, production floor employees and customers. Individual must be willing to work overtime as required. This position will be cross trained to inspect multiple production lines.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, standard operating procedures and other operational documents. Experience in using inspection instruments (such as scale, tape measure, micrometers, calipers, etc.) is preferred.
- Must be able to interpret and understand product specifications and customer requirements.
The QA Inspector is required to follow instructions, work without direct supervision and continually look for ways to improve the inspection efficiency.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Physical requirements standing on feet most of the day; stooping, reaching, bending and lifting.
- May require PPE.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Count, Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Fractions/Percentages. Experience with calculators. Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and fractions. Ability to read and interpret charts used for process control.
COMPUTER SKILLS
This position requires good computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Excel/Word, SharePoint, Outlook, as well as the ability to learn new software programs. Use business systems
MS Office – proficient. Create word process documents, create excel spreadsheets with formulas. Power Point for training aides, Knowledge of MS Office as needed (email)
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
