General Superintendent

The General Superintendent is responsible for managing and coordinating all on-site activities of large construction projects. They oversee site operations, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain quality control. This role demands exceptional leadership skills, robust construction knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. The General Superintendent acts as a liaison between the project management team, subcontractors, and workers to ensure that project goals are achieved efficiently and effectively.

General Superintendent Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee all on-site construction activities.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Implement safety protocols to comply with legal and company standards.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site staff.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control.
• Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly.
• Communicate project progress to stakeholders and project managers.
• Prepare and submit site reports and documentation.
• Monitor and control project resources and materials.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental and legal regulations.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other professionals.
• Mentor and train site staff as needed.
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

General Superintendent Qualifications & Skills

• Over 10 years of experience in construction management.
• Proficiency in construction management software.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction superintendent.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes and best practices.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality control.
• Valid construction-related certifications and licenses.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $122,000.00 per year
