Role Overview
The Clinical Coordinator provides education and training in End Stage Renal Dialysis (ESRD) and treatment modalities to patients, families, students, staff, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality care for ESRD patients
- Develop and implement educational programs to meet staff needs
- Maintain regulatory standards and guidelines for DOH, DNV, ESRD Network, CMS, IPRO, KDOQI
- Conduct research and disseminate information on best practices in dialysis care
Duties
- Provide direct education and training to staff
- Function as a resource and provide supervision to preceptors
- Coordinate patient care team meetings and conferences
- Disseminate information to staff and develop programs to meet their educational needs
- Work with nurse managers to evaluate and optimize nursing care
- Assist in developing and revising unit policies and procedures
- Provide research and expertise for administrative decision-making
- Participate in programs or projects that facilitate attainment of dialysis program goals
Requirements
- ASN or completion of an accredited nursing program required
- Masters degree in Nursing from an accredited institution preferred
- 2 years of acute care dialysis experience required; experience in nursing education preferred
