What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Facilities position at WMCHealth?
Directs the repair, construction and reconstruction of hospitals physical plant and its contents. Develops and administers programs to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment associated with each facility in accordance with state and governing regulations. This includes ensuring each location is readied for inspections from relevant agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans and implements department functions including Maintenance/Engineering, Plant Operations, Safety and Security.
- Ensures facilities structures, grounds, systems and equipment operate effectively and are compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Develops and implements an effective preventive maintenance program for utilities systems, facility infrastructure and equipment.
- Administers biomedical equipment maintenance program through contractual arrangements.
- Collaborates with hospital administration to identify facility/space/life safety issues and develops action plans.
- Serves as interface with outside contractors for construction/renovation projects.
- Led team responsible for Environment of Care functions within the hospital.
- Supports hospital strategic plans related to facility planning.
- Accountable for stewardship of Plant Maintenance - Plant Operations.
- Reports variances, manages labor force, and safeguards equipment and facilities.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance and/or construction with 3 years direct supervision of a staff in a healthcare environment.
- BS in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical) preferred.
- Professional Engineer certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to manage project budgets effectively.
