Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing a restorative healing experience for the patient and their support systems in partnership with the Clinical Manager and the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies key nursing diagnosis from assessment data
- Prioritizes nursing diagnoses considering cultural, religious, and spiritual needs
- Establishes individualized plan-of-care based on data-driven approach
- Implements plan-of-care/discharge plan coordinating with other disciplines using clinical expertise
- Utilizes critical thinking to adapt plan-of-care in response to changing patient needs
- Evaluates outcomes of plan-of-care and alters plan as needed
- Demonstrates ability to make effective nursing judgments
- Documents patient progress legibly and in a timely manner
- Communicates patient data clearly and concisely both written and verbally
Additional Responsibilities:
- Delegates and supervises patient care appropriately
- Functions as charge nurse according to protocol
- Participates in unit-based QI projects
- Initiates unit-specific project related to clinical care of patients
- Manages patient care within assigned time frames
- Actively participates in coordination of care on the unit
Professional Standards:
- Fosters a culture of safety by promoting trust, participation, and collaboration among colleagues
- Identifies potentially dangerous situations and takes action to minimize risk of injury
- Reports errors and documents appropriately
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed in the State of New York or permittee
- Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice
- Knowledge of Hospital structure, objectives, and standards of practice
- Positive communication skills
- Minimum of one year RN experience in Med/Surg
