Payroll Administrator
Job Summary: The Payroll Administrator gathers and maintains payroll data from employee time sheets, tech reports, sales reports, pay plans, benefit enrollment summaries, judicial orders, and other sources to accurately calculate and process biweekly payroll and monthly commissions.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, sales volume, bonuses and commissions, monies to be withheld for taxes, and employee contributions to benefits from time sheets and other records.
- Maintains master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as benefits changes, compensation changes, or transfers of employees between departments or locations.
- Computes wages and deductions, reviews for accuracy and posts to payroll records.
- Prepares and issues paychecks and direct deposits, ensuring sufficient funds are deposited in payroll accounts. Completes required processes with the financial institution to ensure clearance of all employee checks.
- Maintains records of leave pay including vacation, personal time and unpaid leave in conjunction with Human Resources.
- Communicates with employees about payroll issues, striving to understand employee concerns and communicate solutions effectively.
- Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism conveying a positive image of the company
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Mathematical skills – able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, compute rates, ratios and percentages, calculate figures and amounts such as interest and commissions; able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning ability – able to apply common sense understanding, to solve practical problems, and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Language skills – able to read, write and interpret instructions, correspondence and memos; able to present information effectively one-on-one or in small groups to other team members, vendors, or clients.
- Experience – the ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in either a dealership setting or an accounting role
