As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead in the design of various projects from the many construction industries we serve. The Mechanical Design Engineer will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering.
Mechanical Engineer Priorities:
- Lead in the design of Mechanical HVAC Systems on a variety of MEP projects under the supervision of the Project Manager and Firm Principals.
- Develop accurate designs complying with company drafting standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Develop, prepare, check, and coordinate designs/drawings needed for mechanical systems per applicable standards and codes.
- Prepare mechanical specifications, and perform heating/cooling load calculations and building energy modeling.
- Coordinate and attend team meetings and conduct field surveys.
- Coordinate with Code Officials and provide code summaries for projects.
- Prepare technical reports, project cost budgets, and assist in project time budgeting.
- Collaborate with and foster the skill development of our mechanical design and project team members
- Review and coordinate vendor shop drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Directly interface with clients and contribute to the overall business development of the company.
What You Need:
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is required for this position
- Minimum of 8 years of direct experience designing Mechanical (HVAC) systems
- Project list/portfolio demonstrating experience on MEP projects from design through final construction
- Strong knowledge of building, mechanical, and energy codes
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit 2018 or newer
- Excellent Facilitation, Communication, and Analytical skills
- High level of Personal Integrity, Professionalism and Honesty with one's own abilities
- High level Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills
- In-Office Availability: Tuesday through Thursday
