This position works closely with the Communications Specialist and Data Manager & Improvement Specialist, as well as other team members in fulfilling our mission. The position is full-time with benefits. This position reports to our office in Asheville as required (hybrid/work-from-home permitted).
General Summary:
As part of WNC Health Network, the Project Coordinator works with staff and partners to provide technical support and coordination for public health communications and data communications efforts at the regional and local levels.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Communication Program Support
Support the WNC Health Communicators Collaborative (local public health agencies, hospitals, CBOs, and regional partners) by fostering relationships, shared learning, and collaboration. Tasks may include facilitation, strategic planning, presentation development, and organizing events.
Assist with launching a regional public health awareness campaign by researching best practices, facilitating listening sessions, working with marketing agencies on content creation, providing technical assistance to campaign participants, managing campaign tools, and maintaining the social media calendar.
Coordinate communications capacity-building workshops for local partners.
Update and co-design communication tools for local and regional community health improvement processes.
Data Program Support
Support regional data communications and data visualization efforts (Community Health Assessment (CHA)/Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) related tools/templates, reports, regional data stories, etc.)
Support regional data workgroups (Regional Data Team, WNC Healthy Impact Data Workgroup, Mountain Data Equity and Engagement Partners.) Tasks may include meeting planning and support, facilitation, and organizing events.
General Program Support
Collaborate with team members and provide support for WNCHNs regional community heath improvement process, organizational communications, and special projects.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree. Minimum of 3 years of experience, ideally in a non-profit or health-related environment. Strong interest in Population Health Data and Health Communications. Experience working in rural communities and/or western North Carolina is also preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Driver's license required.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with graphic design, video editing platforms, and social media platforms preferred
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills required. Ability to interact professionally and work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals, both within and outside of the organization.
Work Environment:
Typical to an office environment. Option for hybrid work environment (part home-based with regular in-office hours).

Ability to work independently, seek guidance and clarity when needed, and organize, coordinate, and prioritize multiple activities. Outstanding attention to detail and high-level organization skills are also required.
Establishes priorities to ensure timely completion of projects.

May involve use of personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
May require occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work, depending on meetings and events scheduled.

Compensation Range: $56,000-$60,000, plus benefits
