What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at WNC Inc?
Overview:
The Preservation Equity Fund (PEF) is dedicated to preserving affordable housing through acquisition of existing apartment communities while in return, providing cash flow and appreciation to its investors. The Financial Analyst will join a collaborative group of real estate professionals and get the opportunity to learn and grow within an up-and-coming venture for WNC.
Position Responsibilities:
- Financial Underwriting: Input property level financial data into proforma models and underwrite affordable housing projects that meet the fund’s objectives. Review regulatory and debt documents to complete a full underwriting.
- Transaction assistance: Collect and organize due diligence; assist in transaction research
- Research: collect and analyze market trends like rent comps, sale comps, crime, home prices, etc. to make informed decisions on underwriting assumptions
- Special Projects: Complete special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed for Acquisitions, Asset Management, and Investor Relations
- Communication: Interface with brokerage and investor communities; develop warm relationships with all PEF customers & clients
- Light travel requirements: Tour properties on occasion; attend company meetings, conferences, and industry meetings as needed
Qualifications:
- Quick learner that enjoys new challenges and working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial models
- Positive attitude with motivation to learn and grow
- Willingness to collaborate effectively with a talented team
- Ability to take initiative and produce results
- Intermediate to Advanced level of Microsoft Excel skills
- Detailed oriented with attention to accuracy and organization
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Professional and courteous
- Familiarity with multi-family asset class and financial statements
Education & Experience:
- 4-Year College Degree obtained in relevant field of study or equivalent
- 2-5 years of previous related experience

The compensation listed represents the expected salary for this position. A candidate's work experience and other job-related factors will also be considered.
Salary : $70,000 - $100,000
