Job Description

The fixed-term / temporary Director / Technical Director will work closely with producers and technical crew to ensure the show rundown is executed cleanly and accurately and run daily crew meetings that include camera blocking and studio direction. Clear and concise dissemination of control room traffic to the necessary personnel is critical and a sharp eye on detail is a must. In addition, the primary responsibility of the Director / Technical Director includes support of NJTV newscasts, remote productions / uplinks, client rentals, live / pre-tape productions and special programming.

Please note this is a fixed-term temporary role to provide on-call support.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with producers and crew to create & organize production elements which include live shots, graphics, video playback and camera blocking;
• Check graphics and audio deliverables to make sure they are suitable for air;
• Attend and collaborate in daily show meetings;
• Ability to Direct & Technical Direct multi-camera productions in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes on the fly;
• Build and organize switcher effects, transitions and specialty wipes;
• Help provide solutions for studio and control room production needs;
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure all equipment is meeting expectations;
• Ability to oversee work of other control room staff;
• Other relevant duties, as assigned.
