What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education position at Woburn Council of Social Concern Inc?
The Assistant Director will assist the Director of Early Childhood Education in managing the day-to-day operations of the Children's Center. The position involves both supervisory and administrative responsibilities, as well as helping with class coverage as needed.
The hours of the position will be primarily, but not exclusively, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. or until the last child is picked up if that is later than 5:30 P.M.
The Children's Center is operated by the Council of Social Concern in a facility built in 2003. It currently houses 4 classrooms, including infant/toddler, toddler, preschool, and pre-k. The operational capacity of the Center is approximately 52 children. Most of the children are from low-income households and have their childcare subsidized by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
We offer 22 paid holidays and a minimum of 3 weeks vacation, 12 sick days, and 3 personal days a year.
Qualifications
- Must be either EEC-preschool or infant/toddler Lead Teacher certified at the time of hire and be able to become Lead Teacher qualified for the other age group within 6 months of hire and willing to work toward Director I certification. EEC Director I certification is preferred.
- Must have a related college degree and at least 5 years of related experience.
- Experience with CCFA and other EEC software is a plus.

Salary : $58,000 - $63,000
