Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) - $1,000 Sign-On Bonus!

Woburn Pediatric Associates (WPA)a physician-owned practice for 50 years, is looking for a Medical Assistant for our busy pediatric office in Woburn.

This is a Full-Time 40 hrs/week benefits-eligible position. The schedule includes 4 days during the week between the hours of 7:30am - 6pm (schedule will be consistant from week-to-week) plus the requirement of either Saturday or Sunday - each weekend*.

* Must be available to work one weekend day each week as our office is open for a shorter day for sick appointments and newborn visits.

The Medical Assistant provides quality support to our patients by assisting an assigned provider(s) with the daily tasks associated with outpatient office visits. This includes pre-visit preparation, direct interaction with the patient throughout the office visit, and post-appointment follow-up as needed.

The proactive & collaborative healthcare professional in this role will:

  • Prep patient charts prior to office visit.
  • Timely completion of pre-visit planning, reviewing notes to understand purpose of visit, chart for outstanding labs, vaccines, etc…
  • Prep exam rooms prior to patient appointments.
  • Greet patients and accompany them to exam rooms.
  • Accurately record patient information including purpose of visit, vital signs, weight and any changes in medical history prior to the provider exam. Record data collected during the visit, treatment and test results in the EMR.
  • Prep, draw-up and administer vaccinations.
  • Coordinate post-appointment needs such as scheduling specialist appts, follow-up on tests/x-rays, as needed.

Qualifications (Education/Experience/Credentials) include:

  • High school degree or equivalent required; Associates degree/some college a plus.
  • 1 - 2 yrs of prior healthcare experience required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited MA/CMA-specific program required (candidate will be asked to provide document at time of hire); current CMA certificate a plus.
  • 1 years of MA/CMA experience preferred.
  • Solid computer skills and proficiency with EMR and/or practice management systems is important; prior experience with Epic (current EMR) is preferred.
  • CAN DO! attitude and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to the job is key.
  • Attention-to-detail, organization and strong verbal & written communication skills required.
  • Solid work ethic including good track record of reliability relative to good attendance & punctuality is imperative.
  • Ability & desire to build and maintain quality, supportive working relationships with patients/families, team members and providers.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating appropriate behaviors to protect patient health information is critical in the Practice's commitment to complying with HIPAA regulations.
