What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Lift Installer/Inspector position at WOC Maintenance, LLC?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of vehicle lifting equipment (like 2-post lifts, and 4-post lifts) at automotive repair shops, dealerships, or other automotive facilities, requiring knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and safety protocols to properly assemble, calibrate, and troubleshoot the lifts.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a safe manner
- Understand and comply with applicable fire safety, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations.
- Unload and position lift components at the designated installation site.
- Assemble lift structure, including columns, arms, and platform using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Install hydraulic cylinders, electrical wiring, control panels, and safety interlocks.
- Perform alignment and leveling procedures to ensure proper lift operation.
- Connect to power source and test all lift functions for safety and functionality.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, fluid level checks, and adjustment of lift components.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions related to hydraulic systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
- Replace worn or damaged parts as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each of the major duties satisfactorily. The requirements which follow are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
- Understanding of hydraulic systems, including pressure regulators, valves, and cylinders
- Knowledge of electrical wiring and control circuits
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and installation guides
- Ensure proper use of safety gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and fall protection equipment
- Attention to detail
- Prior quality control experience a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Also, the ability to read and interpret documents. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Noise level in the work environmental is normally moderate but can be loud. Duties are performed indoors and outdoors and exposure to hard weather may occur. Most work will be performed during daytime hours Monday – Friday, with occasional required overnights, weekends and overtime. Travel required as necessary.
