POSITION SUMMARY:

Working under general supervision, the Lift Services Repair Technician performs complex inspections of new and existing lift equipment according to industry safety guidelines and regulations. The Technician investigates concerns related to control systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, electrical equipment, and more. They may recommend or complete repairs and follow up to ensure compliance. Depending on their finding, Lift Repair Technicians may stop operations of unsafe equipment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of tools and equipment regularly
  • Properly interpret/uphold ALI standards, regulations, codes, and other industry specific guidelines on a consistent basis
  • Maintain effective customer relations through timeliness of inspections and completion of work orders
  • Provide on-site inspection, troubleshooting, and testing using the appropriate diagnostic tools and advise/report on equipment condition
  • Pay attention to detail and be capable of repairing lift equipment and systems as well as performing visual inspection of completed work
  • Demonstrate the proper use of equipment to customers and effectively communicate equipment failures, concerns, or related maintenance plans
  • Use a computer to compile and submit service reports, while using tablet or phone to take picture documentation, when needed
  • Compile and submit completed service reports in a timely manner
  • Work with all company personnel in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork
  • Keeps Manager informed of any issues that may require their attention
  • Responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and proper use of assigned company vehicle and equipment
  • Follows all company policies and procedures and utilizes proper safety precautions related to all work performed
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work extended hours, outside of regular shift schedule, as required by operational needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each of the major duties satisfactorily. The requirements which follow are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant automotive or industrial technical training or industrial or at least [1] year of related work experience is required. Must have already obtained driver license. Ability to pass driving test and be eligible for insurability with the company. Ability to become and maintain status as a certified inspector through the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI). Strong time management, organizational skills, and interpersonal and communication skills. Basic PC skills and working knowledge of common computer programs and applications. Ability to perform basic calculations and mathematical computations. Work with all company personal in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Solution based mindset with a high level of integrity and work ethic. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. Displays dependability through attendance, follow through and completion of tasks to meet individual/team goals, targets and quotas. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Basic understanding of the fuel and lubricant industry; knowledge of industrial, automotive, commercial, mining and construction industries is not required but a plus. Continued professional development on product and general skills education is a must.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Also, the ability to read and interpret documents. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Noise level in the work environmental is normally moderate but can be loud. Duties are performed indoors and outdoors and exposure to hard weather may occur. Most work will be performed during daytime hours Monday – Friday, with occasional required overnights, weekends and overtime. Travel required as necessary.
