Woerner Turf & Landscape Supply, Inc. is a division of Woerner Turf- one on the South's largest Sod Production Operations, and we are looking for an experienced and proactive Manager to assume the leadership role at our facility.
Woerner Turf & Landscape is a family-owned retail & wholesale distributor of premium landscaping products such as Sod, Hardscapes, Bulk Material (soils, gravels, mulches, etc.), Fertilizer/Control products, & more!
We are accepting applications for a dynamic leader in the Turf and/or Landscape Supply industry (the green industry). The ideal candidate will lead all aspects of our Baton Rouge facility, Safety, Logistics, Operations, Administration, Sales, Profitability and Customer Satisfaction.

Requirements:
Management - Knowledge & Skills:
- Management Experience
- Proven experience in exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and help.
- Experience with Point-of-Sale computer systems and/or ability to learn a computer system quickly.
- Ability to do basic mathematical calculations: square footage, pounds, etc.
- Self-motivated and willing step-in and perform tasks as assigned necessary to the company’s success.
- Inventory Management experience
- Forklift/Equipment operator experience
- Knowledge of market preferences, competition, regulations and trends
Manager Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all operations of the store
- Supervises yard associates, drivers, and sales associates.
- Enforces the Company's policies and procedures.
- Assists and implements employee training activities.
- Provides exceptional customer service to clientele.
- Responsible for maintaining the store at an optimal level which includes maintenance, cleaning, inventory, and store appearance.
- Maintains store-level compliance with Woerner Turf & Landscape Supply's standards of safety, security, facility maintenance, sanitation, postings/notifications, and other administrative duties.
- Supervises as well as participate in unloading of trucks, sorting product, stocking product, ordering product, inventory product, ticketing merchandise, re-merchandising, nursery related maintenance on product, and the reconciliation of all cash and inventory transactions.
- Making efficient logistical decisions related to pick up and delivery of products.
- Addresses customer complaints and resolves problems.
- Responsible for gaining a new clientele in both the retail and wholesale markets.
- Assists in store promotional activities.
Must be able to work varied hours / days including weekends, and holidays as needed.
Green Industry experience preferred.
