The Wolcott Board of Education is accepting internal applications for the following stipend positions:
Title: Robotics Grades 1 to 3 Advisor
Robotics Grades 4 to 6 Advisor
Location: Districtwide
Date: 2024-2025 School Year
Rate: Grades 1 to 3 - Stipend- $650
Grades 4 to 6 - Stipend - $1,600

***Job Requirements***
- Grades 1 to 3
- In Explore, teams of students ages 6-10 focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, and code and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education SPIKETM Essential or WeDo 2.0. - Requirements:
- Run 2 teams of 4-6 students each (8-12 students total)
- Teams can be run concurrently
- 1 meeting of ~60-90 minutes a week
- Oct - Jan
- Attend the Wolcott Explore celebration mid January and the Farmington FLL celebration early February.
- Grades 4 to 6
- FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design, build, and code robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming.(from: https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/ftc )
- Requirements:
- Run 1 team of 6-10 students
- 2 meetings a week for 120 minutes each meeting
- Complete all components of the competition award submissions
- Compete at 2 FTC state qualifying events
- Attend the CT State Championship with the team if they qualify or as a volunteer.
