Job Summary :
The Math Teacher is responsible for educating, instructing and assisting students in mastering subject matter and skills while at the same time encouraging and supporting their positive academic and social growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Meeting and instructing assigned classes in the locations and at the time assigned.
- Planning and creating a curriculum which, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students and is aligned with established core targets.
- Utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Developing reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintaining order in a fair and consistent manner.
- Guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all learning activities, and communicating these objectives to students.
- Accessing the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and providing progress reports as required.
- Working cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, education, and remediation of individual student's needs.
- Taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities, including laboratory safety.
- Ensuring that laboratory working conditions are safe, by following and enforcing safety rules, procedures, and practices, and promoting a culture of safety.
- Maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, policy, and administrative regulations.
- Assisting the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Making provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
- Striving to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attending staff meetings and serving on staff committees.
- Attend and participate in Wolcott's professional development.
- Lead and create content for professional development.
- Demonstrating employee responsibilities in completing duties accurately and promptly.
- Performing other duties as may be assigned by the Head of School.

Compensation
Salary range : $60,000-$90,000,commensurate with experience. Wolcott College Prep offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and life insurance as well as retirement plan options and a matching program.
