Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Import/Export Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the logistics of importing and exporting goods, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and optimizing transportation processes. This role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management.
Duties
- Coordinate and oversee the import and export of goods, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with current international regulations.
- Maintain registrations for the countries that we sell to
- Prepare and review all import/export documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Utilize transportation management systems to optimize shipping routes and reduce costs.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accuracy in documentation and inventory management.
- Collaborate with warehouse management to facilitate efficient order picking and product handling.
- Work with NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations to streamline shipping processes.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, improve efficiency, and support decision-making in category management.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, customs documentation, and compliance reports.
- · Answer phone calls/emails promptly.
- End of month sales reports
· Process customer orders in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner. Provide courtesy follow-up via email / phone (thank you for the order, anything sales we can do for you, do you use any other accessories that we may be able to supply, etc.)
Requirements
- Proven experience in import/export operations or logistics management.
- 5 years import/export experience
- Customer service/ order entry
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and international trade laws.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems and warehouse management software.
- Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex information.
- Familiarity with sourcing strategies and freight management practices.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
