We're looking for a Staff Engineer with expertise in Ruby on Rails to drive technical excellence, and shape the future of our platform as we scale.
This is an on-site position expected to be performed from our Austin, TX office.
Your Impact :
Lead architectural decisions and backend development using serverless infrastructure.
Own and enhance system design for scalability, reliability, and performance.
Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
Write and maintain high-quality, scalable Ruby code.
Design and build robust, scalable APIs using AWS API Gateway.
Lead integrations with third-party applications and services.
Improve system observability, monitoring, and alerting.
Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs.
Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure seamless API integration (Vue or React experience is a plus).
Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and DevOps.

What You Bring :
Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Senior / Staff Engineer, Technical Lead, or similar role in a high-scale production environment.
Expertise in Ruby (minimum 3 years) on production applications.
Strong AWS experience , particularly with serverless architecture (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, RDS, S3, Beanstalk).
Experience leading teams , mentoring engineers, and driving technical decisions.
Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and modern CI / CD pipelines.
Deep understanding of software design patterns, scalability, and security best practices.
Experience with testing frameworks and automated test strategies.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus : Experience with front-end frameworks like Vue or React.
