What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Wolfeboro Children's Center?
The Children's Center is seeking a Preschool Teacher for children 3-5 years of age. This will be a full-time position including up to 40 hours per week and full Center benefits. The position reports to the Group Coordinator for the Preschool Program. Competitive starting salary with Master/Mentor Level opportunity and salary range of $16- $19 with commensurate experience, bachelors or master's degree, and/or state credentialing. Responsible for providing a comfortable, nurturing atmosphere, developing, and executing an on-going program that will contribute to the care, growth and development of the children who attend the Wolfeboro Area Children’s Center.
Duties
- Provide a supportive and welcoming environment that meets the diverse needs of each child and family
- Participate in planning and conducting daily activities for the children.
- Support the children in practicing and developing independent self-help skills
- To maintain a clean, orderly and safe physical environment conducive to optimal growth and development of the children.
- Collaborate with families, related service providers and other support staff
- Participate in staff meetings and planning meetings, using staff meetings as a forum for expressing concerns relevant to the Center functioning or the well being of children.
- Maintain a friendly, respectful relationship with co-workers, to share information with other Center staff appropriately, and to deal directly with involved person and immediate Coordinator.
- Follow all center policies and NH Childcare Licensing regulations.
Requirements
- Experience and passion working with young children
- Ability to work positively in a team environment.
- Candidate should have an understanding of child development.
- Must clear full background check and health screening.
- Strong commitment to maintain confidentiality.
Nice To Haves
- NH State Teaching Credential
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Courses in Early Childhood Education specifically focusing on child growth and development.
