Summary The FOH

Utility is responsible for assisting the food servers and bartenders during

service, proper set-up and maintenance of functioning spaces, as well as

serving guests and keeping the side stations clean and well stocked.

Essential

Job Functions :

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Speak and interact with both new and regular customers
  • Make and serve specialty coffee and tea beverages
  • Adhere to recipes and presentations for food and beverage items
  • Deliver food and drink orders from the kitchen and coffee counter to

customers’ tables rapidly and accurately

  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing
  • utensils; refilling water glasses

  • Clear and reset tables within established standard timings and
  • guidelines.

  • Clean service stations, fill ice bins and restock storage and fridge
  • items according to established

  • par levels
  • Complete all side duties as assigned
  • Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the
  • House staff

  • Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and
  • special requests (e.g. food allergies)

  • Ensures all
  • service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service.

  • Removes
  • soiled dishes from table; brings to dish washing area.

  • Completes set
  • up and teardown of banquet and dining events as assigned.

  • Sets tables
  • with silverware, glassware and other items.

  • Removes
  • soiled linen, restocks work area with clean linens.

  • Stocks
  • servers’ station with supplies.

    Inform a manager and or server if guests have any issues when food is

    delivered.

    thorough understanding and knowledge of all menus, food, food preparation,

    coffee preparation and styles and table side serving techniques.

    ability to present menus and explanations for all menu and beverage items

    as well as specials of the day.

    ability to communicate customer orders clearly through written forms.

  • Qualifications :

    Education : High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)

    Physical Requirements :

    While performing the duties of this job, the

    employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, twist at

    the neck and trunk, bend at the waist and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The

    employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, reach overhead,

    above shoulders and horizontally. Employees will use hands to handle objects

    and tools, and operate service equipment. The employee must regularly lift

    and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 40-pound objects.

    Vision  abilities

    required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision,

    depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may use vision to

    monitor food quality and quantity and may also order supplies, etc.

    Work Conditions :   May require evening and weekend

    hours.  While performing the duties of

    this job, the employee generally works in an indoor front of restaurant and

    kitchen environment with exposure to heat from ovens, hot foods and steamers

    and cleaning chemicals, fumes, equipment, and metal objects. You will usually

    be based indoors, splitting your time between the front of the restaurant and

    the kitchen.  The noise level in the work

    environment is usually moderate but may be loud dependent on specific work site

    and / or equipment operation.The physical demands and work environment

    characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by

    an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
