About The Role
- The incumbent will be responsible for performing the quality testing on raw/coated materials on all product lines which includes sealing, brake applications, etc.
- Conducts quality testing related to raw materials and coated products and entering the data into the database.
- Assists in the troubleshooting the materials related issues on coating lines, mixing room, etc.
- Assists with verifying the production trial run (PTR) by conducting required testing.
- Characterizes materials, screens, optimizes, and collects reproducible data.
- Provides technical support/troubleshooting to technology applicable issues in manufacturing or related to product performance as needed.
- Assists and provides input into test methodology.
- Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Material Engineering or related areas.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical reports.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to effectively present information to management.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Problem solving and analysis skills that include the collection, evaluation and reporting of data and information related to system problems and observations.
- Strong communication skills that include attentive listening, ability to respond to opinions constructively and effectively present ideas to an audience. Must have the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of analytical instruments is a plus: DSC, TGA, FTIR etc.
