POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Set-Up Technician, you will read and interpret blueprints related to technical data to determine setup procedures, tooling, control settings and manufacturing systems. Prepares and forms tools needed for machine operations; Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments on machine. The Technician must have excellent customer service skills and be able to work under tight deadlines and ensure that the operations run smoothly and efficiently. This dynamic position will allow you to be part of a production team that seeks to make a difference while exceeding customer expectations. The ideal candidate would have experience with automatic spring coiling machines (or other metal components) to fabricate compression and extension springs from steel wire, completes set-up in a timely manner, strives to increase productivity, have a superb attendance acumen, and problem-solving techniques that are second to none!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Technical expertise: Proficiency in operating spring machinery and understanding the properties of different metals.
Problem-solving: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner for all machines within Spring area.
Attention to detail: Precision in following specifications and detecting any deviations in product quality.
Mechanical skills: Competence in using tools to perform repairs and maintenance on machinery.
Repair and maintain the operating condition of processing machinery or equipment.
Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
Diagnose and correct malfunctions of equipment and machinery and make replacement parts using machinist’s tools and/or equipment.
Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
Ensures that operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the company’s productivity.
Participate in and support departmental and company-wide continuous improvement activities.
Perform all other reasonable tasks assigned by the department leader.
"MUST HAVE" REQUIREMENTS
Experience in a manufacturing industry working with metals and/or small components.
Minimum of 5 years of Set Up Technician experience.
Experience with maintaining quality standards.
Basic math and/or engineering skills.
Knowledge of basic computer functions.
Ability to use problem solving tools and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret quality requirements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in teams and interact with other department personnel.
Ability to stand, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to write detailed machine set-up work instructions.
Ability to read and interpret diagrams, dimensions, and tolerances
